FREIGHT & PASSENGER TERMINAL
|
P
& O Irish Sea,
The Port, Cairnryan,
Stranraer, Wigtownshire, Scotland. DG9 8RF
|
|
The
Port of Cairnryan is located on the northern edge of Loch Ryan in
the south west of Scotland, and offers the shortest and fastest crossings from Great Britain to Ireland.
Following a major £ 4.5 million
development by P & O Irish Sea Ferries, the port now offers
excellent facilities & services to both passenger & freight
customers.
Cairnryan
is a small but interesting place which was once an important staging post for Ayr in the 1800's before becoming a military port in the 1940's. It later developed a major shipbreaking industry but is now better known for it's excellent Angling and surrounding walks.
