The vast Port of Liverpool now owned by Peel Holdings is one of the UK's major Ports & covers both banks of the River Mersey, both in Liverpool & Birkenhead. The Port handles over 32 million tonnes of freight a year, including one third of all freight moving between Britain & Ireland.

From the South follow the M53 to J1 and then take the A554. Follow the signs to Twelve Quays River Terminal.
From Liverpool take the river crossing to Birkenhead and then follow signs as above.

Hamilton Square Station in Hamilton Street is approx 5 mins away from the ferry terminal.
Taxis are available at most times on the station rank.

Terminal Facilities
The new £30million ultra-modern Twelve Quays River Terminal at Birkenhead offers a check-in hall, cafeteria and lounge, covered check-in areas for both cars and freight vehicles, as well as a separate rest area & showers for haulage drivers, & drop off/pick-up points for buses & taxis.
Both people & freight will move across a multi-lane link bridge to the floating stages, where 2 ferries can berth simultaneously to offer a faster, more comfortable, convenient & reliable route across the Irish Sea

Parking is limited & is operated on a first come first served basis.

There is a Shell Service Station just over a mile away in Borough Road, Birkenhead.

The Twelve Quays River Terminal facilities have all been designed with the disabled in mind.
