The
Port of Stranraer is located on the southern edge of Loch Ryan in
the south west of Scotland. at the mouth of the River Wyre. The
Port & it's Terminal are operated by the Stena Line, and offer excellent
facilities & services to both passenger & freight customer
Stranraer is the largest town in South West Scotland and has origins dating back nearly 500 years to when it's impressive central castle was built. It has a busy town centre and serves also as the gateway to the Rhins of Galloway. |
Directions by Car |
From
the South follow the M6/A74 past Carlisle to Gretna, & then
take the A75 west directly to Stranraer. Follow the signs for the
Ferry Port which is located close to the Town Centre. From the North Stranraer is reached by following the A77 Coast Road from Ayr. |
Directions by Train |
Stranraer Harbour Railway Station is located next to the Ferry Terminal. Regular services from all parts of the UK via Troon.

Daily crossings to BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND - approximate sea crossing times are 105 minutes or 3 hours 15 minutes depending on the Ferry used. |

Terminal Facilities |
Terminal facilities include a Snack Bar, Shop, Hot & Cold Drinks Vending Machines, and toilets. |
Car Parking |
There is a small drop off/pick up short stay ( 20 mins ) car park opposite the main terminal which holds approx 20 cars. A larger long or short stay public car park is available approx. 200 yards from the main terminal opposite the Police Station. This is currently free of charge, however please note that vehicles are left at their owner's risk. |
Nearest Petrol Station |
There is a Morrisons Supermarket and Petrol Station in London Road, near the Ferry Terminal entrance. |
